Who is the STRETCh Instructor?

ISTE2011 with student programmers

Heidi Williams is currently the elementary principal of Wayne, a 6-12 Intervention Coach, the K-12 Gifted & Talented Coordinator, the K-12 Destination Imagination Coordinator, and Charter School Initiative Planner at the Kewaskum School District. She works with teachers and administrators to implement best practice, innovative curriculum options for ALL students.

Before that, she was the STRETCh Instructor at Bayside Middle School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her roles include differentiation, technology integration and STRETCh'ing the personal growth of both students and teachers. Her focus was shifting away from a traditional "Gifted & Talented" model and moving toward a "Talent Development" model called STRETCh - Striving To Reach Every Talented Child.

She obtained her Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Walden University and her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin Platteville. She also holds her mentoring certificate from Cardinal Stritch University and her on-line teaching certificate from the University of Wisconsin Madison.

She also sits on the ISTE - Special Interest Group (SIG-CT) board as a middle school representative. Her passions include K-8 computer programming and helping to shift the pedagogy of education to include learning that happens outside of the school day.
